Golden Gate Bridge - Organ-ize The Planet Walk
Dedicated to Aaron Tanner
On August 28, 2010 people joined together in San Francisco, California to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge in order to raise both awareness of organ donation and funds for people in need of organ transplants. It was the second annual Golden Gate Bridge Walk, sponsored by Organ-ize The Planet and California Transplant Donor Net.

This year’s walk was dedicated to Aaron Tanner, a little boy from Brentwood in Northern California, who was in need of a desperate rare double heart-kidney transplant. Aaron was born with a congenital heart condition and subsequent renal failure. Aaron underwent his heart and kidney transplant on August 14, 2010 and is recovering at UCLA Medical Center. He is in critical condition.
Among those who walked in support of Aaron Tanner and his family were lawyers and staff from the two law firms which represent the Tanners in their case against the manufacturer of Prozac, which Aaron’s mother took while pregnant with Aaron. She was unaware of the birth defect risks associated with taking antidepressants while pregnant until she saw a television commercial alerting about the risks.

Aaron was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and Tetralogy of Fallot. At six days-old he had his first open heart surgery. Since then he has had multiple surgeries and he must get a new heart and kidneys in order to survive.
Saveabrokenheart.com was created to raise awareness about Aaron’s condition and raise funds for his much needed organ transplants. Donate here to save Aaron’s broken heart.
